1. Ordering & Deposit

To secure your position in our exclusive build queue and initiate the detailed design and fit phase for your custom steel or titanium bicycle, a non-refundable deposit of $1,500 USD is required. This deposit covers the initial consultations, design iterations, frame geometry development, and selection of materials. Your commitment allows us to dedicate the necessary time and expertise to craft the perfect foundation for your dream bike.

2. Payment Schedule

The total cost of your custom build will be handled through a structured payment plan:

  • Initial Deposit: A non-refundable $1,500 USD due at the time of order placement to reserve your spot and begin the design process.
  • Design Approval Payment: 50% of the remaining balance is due upon final design approval, prior to the commencement of frame fabrication.
  • Final Balance: The remaining 50% of the balance is due upon the completion of your frame, including paint and clear coat, and before any final assembly, packaging, or shipping takes place. We will provide detailed photographs and a final inspection report for your approval prior to this final payment.

3. Design & Approval Process

Our collaborative design process ensures your custom bicycle meets your exact specifications. After the initial deposit, we will begin developing detailed frame drawings and material specifications. We will work closely with you through iterative revisions. Frame fabrication will only commence once we receive your explicit written approval of the final design documents, including geometry, tube selection, and any aesthetic considerations. Any changes requested after final approval may incur additional charges and extend lead times.

4. Cancellations & Changes

As each Elizabeth J Kehoe frame is a bespoke creation tailored specifically for you, our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • The initial deposit is non-refundable.
  • If an order is cancelled after the design approval and the first installment has been paid, but before significant fabrication has begun, a portion of the first installment may be refunded at our discretion, less any costs incurred for materials or labor already expended.
  • Once frame fabrication has commenced, no refunds will be issued for any payments made.
  • Significant changes requested after final design approval and fabrication commencement may be subject to additional charges and may extend the delivery timeline. We strongly encourage thorough review during the design approval phase.

5. Warranty

Elizabeth J Kehoe stands behind the craftsmanship of every frame. We offer a limited lifetime warranty to the original owner against defects in materials and craftsmanship for all steel and titanium bicycle frames that we build. This warranty guarantees the structural integrity of the frame components made by Elizabeth J Kehoe.

Exclusions from Warranty:

  • Paint and finishes, which are considered wear items.
  • Components, parts, or accessories not manufactured by Elizabeth J Kehoe (these are covered by their respective manufacturers' warranties).
  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Damage caused by accident, neglect, abuse, improper assembly, improper maintenance, modifications, or uses inconsistent with the original design intent.
  • Corrosion or rust.
  • Labor charges for part replacement or changeover.

Warranty claims require proof of purchase and original ownership. Any modification to the frame by the owner or a third party will void this warranty.

6. Shipping & Delivery

Once your custom frame is complete and the final balance has been settled, we will arrange for its secure shipment. Shipping costs, insurance, and any applicable customs duties or taxes are the responsibility of the customer. We partner with reputable shipping carriers and will provide tracking information upon dispatch. We meticulously pack each frame to ensure safe transit, but Elizabeth J Kehoe is not responsible for damage incurred during shipping. We highly recommend purchasing shipping insurance. Local pick-up in Key West, FL, can be arranged by appointment.

7. Limitation of Liability

Elizabeth J Kehoe shall not be liable for any special, incidental, or consequential damages including lost profits, loss of opportunity, or economic loss, whether based on contract, tort, or any other legal theory, arising out of the sale, use, or inability to use our products or services. In no event shall Elizabeth J Kehoe's liability exceed the original purchase price of the product or service.

8. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions and any disputes arising out of or related to them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding relating to your access to, or use of, the service or products shall be instituted in a state or federal court in Florida.
